Local Artist Spotlight - Cody Lovaas

If anyone is able to bring the beach into the studio, it’s singer-songwriter Cody Lovaas. With his guitar in one hand and surfboard in the other, Cody puts his musical talent and humble beginnings into everything he does. After being discovered at a coffee shop by Jason Mraz when he was only 14, Mraz invited Lovaas to open his 2015 North American Tour soon after. Lovaas’ recognition grew quickly as he won an award for Best New Artist at the 2014 San Diego Music Awards, and was nominated for Best Singer-Songwriter the next year. Cody has also supported other artists on the road such as Ziggy Marley, Switchfoot, and Donavon Frankenreiter!

As he continues to develop his songwriting abilities and musical talents, Cody has released multiple singles this year. His latest being ‘Turbulence’ featuring Caroline Pennell, Lovaas is sure to have projects in the works! With his singles reaching stream counts in the millions, and his followers showing their strength in numbers too, keep an eye on Cody Lovaas!
